Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information 5 BOROUGHS (the "Game") collects, why, and what choices you have. The Game is built to collect as little as possible.

1. Play without an account

You can play the Game as a guest. Guest campaigns are stored in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears your guest record.

2. Accounts

If you create an account to appear on the leaderboard, we store the information needed to run it: a handle, sign-in credentials or provider identifier, and your game results (wins, losses, difficulty, scores). We use this only to operate accounts, ranked play, and the leaderboard.

3. Cloud saves

If you are signed in, you may sync campaign saves to our servers so you can resume across devices. These saves contain game state only — no sensitive personal data. You can delete them by deleting the save or your account.

4. Payments

Donations are handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy. We may receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount and tier.

5. Analytics and cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage necessary to keep you signed in, remember your light/dark theme preference, and run the Game. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Website usage and analytics: we measure how zir0matter.com is used with our own cookie-free analytics, run for us by Arena Cerny Group on systems it controls. No cookies or similar identifiers are stored on your device for analytics. We record the pages you view (without anything after a "?" in the address), the site that referred you, campaign tags, your device type, operating system and browser (name and version), approximate screen size and language, and how you use the site: steps through our forms (which fields were used, never what you type), video plays, link clicks, scroll depth, time on page, page speed and site errors. Your IP address is used briefly to estimate an approximate location (city or area, roughly 1 km), create the daily visit code and filter automated traffic, and is then discarded, never stored. Visits are counted with a code that changes every day, so we cannot recognize you from one day to the next or follow you across other websites. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we count the page view without creating that code. IP geolocation by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0.

6. Children

The Game is for players 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep account and leaderboard data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Detailed website analytics records are kept for 13 months; after that we keep only totals that can't be traced to any single visit.

8. Your choices

• Play as a guest to share nothing with our servers.
• Delete cloud saves individually or delete your account entirely.
• Manage cookies through your browser settings (note that sign-in may stop working).

9. Changes

We may update this Policy as the Game evolves. Material changes are reflected by the "last updated" date above.
